Day 134

Havasu is getting a little better weather.  They've had some rain and cooler temps which helps everyone feel better.  Mom and Dad were able to get out and walk in Rotary Park and they both said that they enjoyed that a great deal.  Dad's thinking about getting a bicycle again, and so they looked at those later as well.

Dad is excited about a new "assignment" that Tod (his PT) has given him.  He would like him to paint and write about his stroke experience.  Tod would like to use this as content for an article he'd write for a medical journal. I believe Mom said "Stroke" was the name of the journal.  He talked quite a bit about this and how he would approach the subject.  In his old advertising days, he used to write his own copy, so if he can dust of those skills I'm sure it will be great.

We talked about other local interest items, football and our trip to LHC for the holidays.  We also talked more about his brother Forest who he remains worried about.

Dad's spirits are good, but he still struggles with becoming discouraged occasionally.

In spite of everything I shall rise again: I will take up my pencil, which I have forsaken in my great discouragement, and I will go on with my drawing. – Vincent Van Gogh
