Happy Independence Day!

Dad was out shopping yesterday (@ Kmart), and then went to lunch at Papa Bear's.  First Dad had to teach Mom how to put gas in the car.  Then home for a nap.  Then out to Safeway for groceries.  Dad came home with an apple/cherry combo pie.  He was very excited about this, and it IS apparently on his renal diet.  (really?) They ran into the audiologist there at the grocery store and she was very nice to Dad, expressing her concerns as BnB brought her up to speed on the whole story.

All in all, it was a good day.

Today, they've been walking and working on "homework."  Dad says that he's had a hard time getting Mom motivated today.  lol.  They were laughing and enjoying Candis and Eric staying over (and their cute doggy Denver) for the weekend.  The made frequent jokes about how much Eric liked to sleep.   We enjoyed just a brief chat, then said goodbye so that SPKB could get to the rainy fireworks display in OP, KS.

We are so blessed as a people, and I'm especially thankful for the God given vitality of my dear old Dad this holiday.  In church this morning I was searching my bible for "Freedom" and found this passage:

It is absolutely clear that God has called you to a free life. Just make sure that you don’t use this freedom as an excuse to do whatever you want to do and destroy your freedom. Rather, use your freedom to serve one another in love; that’s how freedom grows.

In Christ we are free!  Thanks God.
