Called just as BnB were back from the neurologist appointment.  Overall it was a very good visit and boosted their spirits quite a bit.  Dr. Neuro said that if Dad will follow the rules (no heavy lifting, bending over, straining, getting angry, etc) that his chance for another stroke is just about nil.  The doctor wants them to read about intracranial bleeding so they can understand a bit more so he sent them home to google the topic. (now we just need to teach Mom to google!)  This doctor also wants Dad to see a hematologist to see if they can determine the root cause of the brain bleeding.  Dr. Neuro also reviewed Dad's CT scan with him and the results of the carteroid ultrasound.  It was the first time that Dad remembers seeing the CT results even though we did show them to him in Vegas.  Another good sign of how he is recovering.  The sono he had at the rehab center, but neither Mom or Dad knew that he had one.  The results show a small carteroid blockage, but the doctor didn't seem worried about that at all.

In addition to keeping the rules, Dr. Neuro wants Dad to keep track of his blood pressure.  Right now he's not talking any BP meds, and his pressure was 124 over 70.  It's been in that range for the last few days and everyone is pleased with that.  The doctor said that his eyes should continue to recover since the eyes can repair themselves, but how much is unknown.  He explained his right side vision is like a car with the headlight aimed incorrectly.

BnB both seemed relieved, in good spirits, but tired from a long day. Dad worked on a  puzzle today with Mom, and completed much of it on his own.  Mom said that she talked to Pam and she's planning to come down next weekend.

We ended our call with this nice story:   I got a call from Tim Hare today.  He said that he had just sold some of his cattle and wheat [What? is it 1850 again?] and he wondered if his grandparents needed anything.  We talked for a while about how thankful he was for them, and what a difference they've made in his life. He just wants to do something to help them.

After that, happy tears and hugs for all.  =)

Good night everyone.
