Talked to BnB this afternoon, both sounded well. Mom's doing a great job running the "Fountain Palm Rehab Center" . . .although she did need a little research help from her remote pharmacist Scott today. :-)
It's been very hot in LHC, 90 at 5AM. Whoa! Kevin is up in Flag today taking care of his rental, and Pam is expected next weekend. Other than the heat it sounded like they were enjoying a quiet weekend. They had gone to Wal-Mart earlier and Mom said that Dad outlasted her. They didn't attend church but watched Dr. Stanley instead.
Yesterday Mom went to the "Bob - A Stroke of Genius" website to bring Dad up to speed on his notoriety. She said he enjoyed catching up on what had happened to him in the last 30 days. Much of it he doesn't remember. They both got emotional remembering/learning it together. Reminds us again how blessed we are with Dad's recovery and the support of all our friends an family.
Kevin continues to stop by daily and carry the load for us siblings in the hands-on helping out category. This week: load the printer with new ink and check some cable connections. I may just start calling him "The Super." hah!
Mom was able to get the GP doctor to help her obtain all the lab results that have been done by the various doctors in the last 30 days. She needed this to set up the appointment next week with the hemotologist. She will also be working to set and appointment up with the Nephrologist (kidney doc). I think she said that a tentative date of 7/28 was set. (funny, that's the day Kris goes to court for his first traffic ticket ever!)
Dad says that he's getting around pretty good. Doctor says that he could maybe try operating a motor vehicle of some kind soon (like a golf cart or electric scooter). Dad continues to make better than expected progress on his rehab. He has been working on his written language and has already mastered the "homework" that's been assigned by the therapist. Mom said that Dad wrote a short letter today, and that he did well with it. He's also been doing some karaoke and enjoys it, but is frustrated that he can't read faster. "Peace in the Valley" is what he was working on tonight.
Well, seems like a good place to sign off for the night. Peace to all of you.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.
