Called and chatted with BnB just as they were logging off Facebook. These kids and their social media! lol Everyone seemed in good spirits and as we talked I learned why.

Yesterday they were at the Rehab Center for his usual round of PT/OT/ST. The physical therapist ["The Sarge"] had been out for a week on vacation and couldn't believe the amount of progress Dad had made during that time. She asked a lot of questions about what he'd been doing, and how he was getting along. They talked about how he's handling things like the shower, getting around the house, etc. She agrees with the approach there, and understands that Mom probably wouldn't be much help to prevent a fall, but needs to be near in case there is one. After all this talk, she indicated that Dad was about 300% better and that there was really no good reason to continue with the outpatient PT. So he's been released from that but will continue with the OT and ST. She cautioned him that he needs to continue with the exercises but doesn't need supervision any longer.

In other therapy he's working with four place addition and subtraction, which he can do all in his head. He's also working on "x is to y as a is to ____" type exercises. Mom says that "he is doing supremely well" reading all the questions on his own. One last one that they found challenging was the "Stroop Test." Try it for yourself at http://www.onlinestrooptest.com/ it's not as easy as it sounds.

It's nice now that Dad's condition is improving that we can chat about more normal things. We had a long conversation about the kids, route 66 and how it goes through Kansas at Baxter Springs, the oppressive heat of LHC, etc. It's so nice to have some normalcy back.
They have more therapy tomorrow and I'll post more news as I have it.

We also talked about the flooding going on in Flagstaff. If you haven't heard about it, check it out and support your friends who may live there.
