He is making good progress according to his doctors and therapists, but Dad struggles being satisfied with where he is at this point. The doctors explain that his recovery time is similar that of a cut or other wound, that the body just needs time to heal. One thing is for sure, he's very ready to be home.
He continues to do well with the PT, and "Sarge" is having some trouble keeping him challenged. She mentioned some exercises called "finkle" that might be good for when he gets home. We are researching that and will find out more. He worked on the balance board today. Tod his OT had him working to circle headlines and matching numbers today. Tod mentioned that dad's case is very interesting and that it would make a good case study. The speech therapist asked Dad to give her directions to his house as an exercise and he did it without problem and amazed all around.
I asked if they had tested his color recognition again yet, because when they worked on it in Vegas he had real trouble telling colors apart. Mom did a quick check this evening and he seems to have it all back again, but she will bring it up. She did ask about his outpatient therapy schedule and they said that it would be three times a week for 1-3 months. Insurance will continue to pay beyond that if he is making additional progress. The "Sarge" requested that she be Dad's outpatient PT since he is such a challenging case.
Kevin and Melissa came by to visit tonight.

Mom and Dad both sounded tired and in need of a good nights sleep. Good night you two, sleep well.
