Update: Melissa called and said she had just talked to Sara the nurse in ICU.  Dad made the trip fine, he's in stable but critical condition.  Sara said to expect that dad would be in ICU for a long time.  They were getting a CAT scan done, but couldn't disclose more information until a family member was there in person.
